 For ECFE classes, please register all attending children, not adults.

Birth to Pre-Kindergarten Separating Classes

Two hour classes include time to play and learn with your child and time for adults to meet separately for support, socializing, and education.

ECFE Preschool Experiences

ECFE options for preschoolers include Preschool Plus,Tue/Thur morning or afternoon, a two day parent/child preschool experience, Preschool Positives, Mondays, 12:30-2:30 pm, an ECFE format with parents and preschoolers, sibling care offered, and More to Explore, Mondays, 9:30-11:30 am, a two session drop off class for children 3-5 years old who are also enrolled in a preschool experience.

ECFE Punch Card Classes

There are nearly 100 one session Punch Card classes this year! Choose among the following topics and times:
Science Stuff, Mondays, 10-11:30 am
Together Tuesday, Tuesdays, 3-4:30 pm: Let's Build, Let's Play, Let's Pretend, Let's Rhyme
Tool Kits for Learning, Thursdays, 4:30-6 pm: Building Readers, Make and Take, Brain Games, Tinkerlabs & Loose Parts
Friday Fun Club, Fridays, 12:30-2 pm: Building Readers, Community Helpers, Brain Games, Science Stuff
Two ways to register for one time classes. Register for each one time class and pay a $7 family fee per class or purchase a punch card for $50 that's good for 10 one time classes throughout the 2019-20 school year. In either case, register only your attending children for each class.

 

 

Family Events

A variety of family events are offered throughout the year including a monthly Family Dance Party on Friday evenings!

Infant & Toddler Classes

Infant and toddler non-separating classes for children, birth to 36 months and their parents. 

Parent Only Classes and Workshops

Classes and workshops for parents and caregivers offered as one session, four session or on-going classes to provide information and support along the parenting journey.  Choose from the following:
School Age Parenting, Wednesdays, 1:30-3:30 pm: weekly class offered Fall, Winter and Spring,Sliding Fee, Child Care available with registration and fee
What to Expect... Parent Workshops, Tuesdays, 10-11:30 am or 1:30-3 pm: one time sessions with a focused topic, FREE; free child care available, must register separately
Parenting Short Series, Tuesdays, 10-11:30 am or 1:30-3 pm: 4 week sessions for a more in depth look at Conscious Discipline or Executive Function, FREE; free child care available, must register separately

Parents & Children Together Classes

Parents and children stay together for these classes. Families explore new learning activities, engage in interesting topics and play together in our early childhood setting. 

READY! For Kindergarten

The READY! For Kindergarten program is designed to help participants prepare children with the skills needed to start and stay at grade level throughout their scholastic career. You, the parent or caregiver, are your child's most powerful teacher. With READY! for Kindergarten you can help plant the seeds for success in school and a lifelong love of learning for your child. Join us for upcoming READY!

 Immunization records are required for ECFE attendance.
Minnesota law requires children enrolled in early education programs to be immunized against certain diseases or file a legal medical or conscientious exemption. Immunizations must be on file PRIOR to the start of class, current as appropriate to the child's age or in progress, in order to attend regularly scheduled Early Childhood Family Education classes.

You may submit your child's immunizations one of the following ways:
1. Fax a current copy of the record to 191 Early Childhood Nurse, at 952-707-4140.
2. Have your child's doctor fax the record.
3. Click on the following two links to complete the Early Childhood Immunization Form and Emergency Care Form, complete and mail or drop off at the Community Education office:
