Girls on the Run Twin Cities, Inc. inspires young girls in the 3rd to 5th grades to be joyful, healthy and confident by combining training for a 3.1 mile race with important lessons about body image, healthy living, friendship and more
Who: This running program is available to all girls in the 3rd to 5th grades. There is no running or sports experience required!
The Nuts and Bolts: The 20-lesson curriculum is delivered by certified Girls on the Run® coaches over 10 weeks. One team of 15 girls will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays after school beginning September 6th from 4:00— 5:30 pm. The program concludes with a 5k race on June 3 (No program spring break).
The Depth of the Program: Girls will learn life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. The program includes activities that help girls learn about who they are and what’s important to them.
What you get: In addition to the lessons and running games, the girls will get a healthy snack at every practice, a program t-shirt and water bottle, race registration for the girl, and a race finisher’s medal. The program costs $150 per girl. Scholarship are available: we want every girl to be able to participate regardless of financial circumstances.
Registration is on a first-come, first serve basis and is limited to 15 spots for the fall season.
