American Red Cross Lifeguarding plus Waterpark Module
American Red Cross Certification for ages 15 years and up. This lifeguarding course is to teach future lifeguards the skills and knowledge necessary to guard at pools, waterparks and waterfronts. At the end of the class you will acquire American Red Cross certification in lifeguarding for pools and waterparks, CPR for infants, children, and adults, AED, first aid, and blood borne pathogens. Certification is current for 2 years. Lifeguard manual is provided. Bring a swim suit, lunch, water bottle, and notebook to each class. Attendance is required for ALL classes.
Course qualifying: On the first day of class, you must be prepared to: Show proof of age (driver's license or birth certificate showing you are at least 15 years old on or before the last day of class). Swim 300 yards continuously using a combination of breast stroke and front crawl. Swim 20 yards and surface dive seven to ten feet and bring up a 10-pound brick and swim back within 1 minute 40 seconds. Tread water for 2 minutes without hands.
