GTI-Get To It!

GTI is for all students entering grades K-8.

Activities are geared towards academic, physical, and social development. Faculty is comprised of teachers and professionals from many fields who provide targeted, challenging and relevant experiences, and are committed to creating opportunities for exploration and growth. 

Free At Lunch Bunch Supervised Lunch Break  Pre-registration is required. 
Students who attend a full day of classes at GTI will have a supervised one-hour break from 12-1 pm for no additional cost. To qualify you must attend a three hour morning and three hour afternoon activity on the same days. Students may provide their own lunches or participate in District 191's free hot lunch program.
Before and after care supported by Project KIDS
Additional care available for students entering grades K-6 before and after GTI, half-day camps and classes. Enrollment forms must be completed and on file prior to the start date of your GTI class. For availability and cost, contact Stacey Konopa at 952-707-3008,
Plant Uses Camp/Ethnobotany

Ethnobotany is the study of plants and their practical uses through the traditional knowledge of a local culture and people. It's a cross-curricular study of biology, science, and history. Kids respectfully learn about and from different cultures, including how have they used plants for food, medicine, building materials, and cultural activities throughout history. Students will engage in a variety of activities and creative take home projects. Class discussions will primarily focus on Indigenous Nations and Europeans while touching on other groups. Make sure to dress for the weather and wear closed toed shoes and long pants.
Bring to Class:
Bring a snack and water bottle each day.
Class will be conducted in accordance with current recommendations from MDH and ISD 191 Health & Safety Dial Approach.

Stay home if you are not feeling well, have a temp of 100.4F or higher or you or a household member has been exposed to someone with COVID symptoms in the past 72 hours. Face masks which cover both nose and mouth must be worn in accordance with MDH guidance. Individuals are not permitted to remove their face coverings during activities.
